Kevin Sharp, director of the Dixon Gallery and Gardens, will give a talk inspired by his essay in the "Cecilia Beaux: American Figure Painter" exhibition catalogue. The show opened at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta last summer and will travel next to the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts later this year. In his lecture, Sharp will incorporate the Brooks' Cecilia Beaux portraits of Samuel Hamilton Brooks and Bessie Vance Brooks as well as Mary Cassatt's painting of Francoise, which is currently on loan to the museum from a private collection.
