The installation is a continuation of Butcher’s work, which focuses on different stereotypes and how these stereotypes can coexist. The stereotypes he explores in this latest installation are the traditional notions of Arkansas redneck hillbillies and pretentious academic high art-making artists. It is a self-portrait of sorts, as Butcher confesses that he is a redneck hillbilly from Arkansas who wishes to be part of the pretentious academic art world. The installation consist of forty wooden forms the Arkansas redneck would perhaps describe as “little critters” or Star Wars AT-AT’s. The academic art world would perhaps describe the pieces as an artist that is exploring possible contemporary representations of a post and lintel community.
