A respectable family flees within the confines of their home, from a strange, unknown and terrifying Noise which pursues them as they move from floor to floor until they reach the attic. This darkly comic play is a deeply disturbing essay on the culture of fear. It exposes how easily a society becomes the prisoner of its own paranoia. This play, written in 1959, is even more relevant today with our society's deep seated fear of the unknown terror waiting to spring forth from any direction.

The Cast: Melissa Briggs Mother (Anna)

    Jon Devin Schmirz

    Natalie Higdon Zenobia

    Don McCarrens Father (Leon)

I just happened to stumble across your theatre while strolling around the Square. The company took a potentially slow-moving, plot less absurdest play and breathed life into it. I liked the trick of rolling in the side seating after each act, thus shrinking the stage (as the cast shrank). The production was, as Mug would say, excellent, blue- ribbon, capital, champion, first-class, prime, superior, tiptop. Great job, guys and gals. Will make it a point to revisit if I get back to Memphis. Collapse
