    This Pinter classic is set in a boarding house in England and follows Stanley Webber, who is the only lodger. One morning while owners, Meg and Stanley Boles, banter over breakfast, it is mentioned that two mysterious strangers are coming to stay the night. Stanley immediately grows apprehensive, sensing some dark danger. These fears are confirmed when Goldberg and his partner McCann arrive. After it is discovered that it is Stanley's birthday, Goldberg demands a celebration. With a few glasses of whiskey and a game of blindman's bluff, Stanley's birthday slides into a nightmare.
