Raising funds to ensure excellence in the arts and build a vibrant cultural community for everyone.
Our mission statement above says it best - ArtsMemphis is an arts fundraising organization dedicated to supporting and enhancing the region's cultural community. Approximately 95% of funds raised through our Annual Campaign goes directly to the arts community. Founded 45 years ago by a group of Memphians who wanted to ensure that vibrant and diverse local arts offerings would be sustained, ArtsMemphis is now one of the largest United Arts Fund in the entire country.
ArtsMemphis is proud to offer this calendar of events to our community as another way to promote our many cultural assets.

	Tell-a-friend Memphis Black Arts Alliance Celebrating & Nurturing the Arts & Black Heritage Since 1982 Our programs are designed to offer easy and affordable access to high quality cultural instruction and arts programming which: instills pride, discipline, reflection, positive action on social issues; improves cognitive and social skills; develops talent and offers arts-related job training; encourages and promotes entrepreneurship in the arts; and, promotes harmony and appreciation of diversity within and outside the black community. 	Tell-a-friend Memphis Cultural Arts Enrichment Center Now celebrating 20 years of the health, social and academic development of Memphis area youth through the performing arts.
	Tell-a-friend New Ballet Ensemble and School The New Ballet Ensemble and School is a place where Memphis children come together from all backgrounds to find a common ground in dance where talent, dreams and goals are nurtured, developed and realized regardless of the ability to pay. New Ballet trains young dancers in a quality classical ballet curriculum at a state-of-the-art facility and has a strong and varied repertoire that speaks to an increasingly diverse world. 	Tell-a-friend Stax Museum of American Soul Music The world's only soul music museum! Built on the site of the original Stax Records studios at 926 East McLemore, our world-class permanent collection of memorabilia, interactive exhibits, and unqiue, scale replicas tell the story of "the Memphis sound" to thousands of visitors from around the world every year. A program of The Soulsville Foundation.
	Tell-a-friend TheatreWorks TheatreWorks is a consortium of performing arts groups consisting of, Emerald Theatre Company, New Moon Theatre Company, Our Own Voice Theatre Troupe, Playwrights' Forum, Project Motion, Voices of the South and visiting groups such as Bluff City Tri-Art Theatre and Ballet on Wheels.

About ArtsMemphis
- Known around the world for its blues and rock and roll, Memphis has a recognizable special vibe. ArtsMemphis exists to nurture this unique character and to magnify the city’s creative voice. We are a 45-year-old arts funding organization (the sixth largest in the United States), which provides annual operating and project support to 23 arts groups and administers some 150 additional grants on a year to year basis. The ArtsMemphis tagline is “your support matters” and indeed it does. As major fundraisers, grant-makers and arts promoters in the city, ArtsMemphis contributed more than $4 million to the Memphis arts community in 2007, and it is a fact that 95 cents of every dollar raised in our annual campaign is directed to our funded organizations. ArtsMemphis builds partnerships among artists, arts groups, donors, educators and culture lovers throughout the city and region. Recognizing that a lively arts scene has a major economic impact and is essential to the quality of life in Memphis, ArtsMemphis is encouraging the entire community to interact with the arts like never before. The current enhanced website with its expanded calendar of events has been introduced with that goal in mind.
