ARTSmemphis Welcomes Spring Intern Keeosha Armstrong

ArtsMemphis is pleased to welcome visual artist Keeosha Armstrong as the organization’s Spring 2023 Intern through a partnership with The Studio Institute Arts Intern Program!

The Studio Institute Arts Intern Program provides early-career opportunities for college students interested in museum or arts and culture careers, with a focus on students with a financial need.  Based in New York, this program operates in Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, New York City, Philadelphia, Providence, and Memphis. The program includes special events and seminars for interns to interact with their peers.  Interns come away with experience, skills and relationships that equip them for a future in the arts and culture organizations.  ArtsMemphis is partnering with Studio Institute this semester to provide a paid internship experience for Keeosha Armstrong. 
 
Keeosha Armstrong is an emerging mixed media African American visual artist. Her mother, Veronica Reeves, exposed Keeosha and her sister to performing arts by enrolling them into different art organizations in Memphis such as Young Actors Guild. In 2020, Armstrong presented her first solo exhibition, Lost in Time, at Young Actors Guild’s Harriet Performing Arts Center, showcasing over 15 oil paintings.  

In recent years, Armstrong has curated a group art expo with the group, Grind City Creatives, displaying artworks from over ten artists. Most recently, Keeosha participated in the 2022 group exhibition, Nasty Women Exhibit Memphis at Marshall Arts Gallery. Currently, she attends the University of Memphis and is pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts. In addition to interning with ArtsMemphis, she continuously seeks opportunities to cultivate her knowledge in ways that can contribute to the arts.
